Drive out Hunger! Make it a December to Remember!
The Michigan Indian community is one of the most vibrant ethnic groups in Michigan. Several of our community members are successful engineers, entrepreneurs, IT professionals, management consultants, academicians, physicians, students, classical artistes, media personalities and more. As you are aware, the economic recession has taken a mammoth toll on thousands of families in the area. It is time for us to step up and help our immediate community in need by joining hands and displaying our kindness.

miindia.com, in collaboration with Gleaners Community Food Bank and other community organizations is launching “Michigan Indian Community Charity Drive 2011”. In the following weeks we will be setting “canned food” collection drives at various locations. We are also setting up cash/check donation cans at various Indian businesses. Follow the link to make online contributions to the cause. All donations (100%) will be forwarded to Gleaners Community Food Bank.

About Gleaners  |  Gleaners Community Food Bank is a 501 (c) 3 organization.

Here is what they do
For more than 33 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "nourishing communities by feeding hungry people.” Last year, Gleaners distributed 40 million pounds of emergency food to over 577 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties. Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 96 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor. For more information visit http://www.gcfb.org/
