All Michigan adults to be eligible for COVID-19 vaccine from April 5

Good news for Michigan! It appears that vaccine supply will increase significantly in the coming weeks.

All adults will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccine starting April 5.  Starting March 22, anyone age 16 to 49 with certain medical conditions will become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.  

Note that it was already announced that ALL those age 50-64 are eligible from March 22nd. Currently all adults from 50-64 with underlying medical conditions are eligible.

» Current – All adults 65+;  All adults 50-64 year old (with underlying medical conditions)
» March 22 onwards – All adults 50-64 years old AND all adults 16 – 49 years old (with underlying medical conditions)
» April 5 onwards – All adults 16+ will be eligible

Mass vaccination sites will be set up. The federal regional mass vaccination site, at Ford Field in Detroit, will be able to administer an additional 6,000 doses a day for 8 weeks - the allocation will come on top of the state's regular supply. The site will open March 24  from  8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
