COVID cases at highest levels in Michigan – New restrictions announced

Nov 7, 2020

Michigan reports the highest single day count of 7,513 cases on November 7th

Covid-19 cases in Michigan are at the highest levels now. As of yesterday, the weekly average is nearly 3,800.  The State’s fatality rate is 3.8%. It is wise to be safe than sorry.  Please exercise caution. With the Diwali Holiday coming up next week, a number of our Michigan Indian community members are planning on get-togethers with friends and family.  Be careful!  Don’t risk lives.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has issued new restrictions effective immediately.  No more than 10 people in family gatherings and 100 people for outdoor events (face mask must be worn).  Note that indoor events with food will curtail mask wearing thus increasing the risk of spreading the virus.

MDHHS has also published a document with several other restrictions.  Click here to read it.

Avoid crowds, wear a mask, maintain safe distance, wash your hands and be aware of the risks.

Stay Safe!
