Diwali 2020 celebrations are expected to bring cheer and happiness to over a billion people around the world. The annual “Festival of Lights” symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance".

Diwali or Deepavali is celebrated by members of Hindu, Sikh and Jain faiths around the world. This year the date is Saturday, November 14th.

Unfortunately, COVID -19 pandemic is likely to curb large gatherings and celebrations this year. Typically, temples in Detroit metro area prepare for huge celebrations. Several regional associations (UPAD, Detroit Telugu Association, Troy Telugu Association. Tamil Sangam etc.) host special events with very enthusiastic participation).

We have received Diwali Greeting videos from Governor Gretchen Whitmer and US Congresswoman Haley Stevens.
