Ford Asian Indian Association 2018 Annual Gala

Ford Asian Indian Association (FAIA) hosted its annual dinner gala at the Ford Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, MI.  FAIA was formed in 1996 and has over 5,000 members worldwide. The event itself was a great networking opportunity for vendors, employees and retirees.  Nand Kochar. President of FAIA welcomed the audience.  Jim Farley, EVP and President Global Markets addressed the gathering and spoke about his global upbringing. Jim was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has lived in 20 countries including India. Jim mentioned about taking his family to Kerala and performing voluntary service.  Jim mentioned that India, its people and culture has had a profound impact on him.  Jim spoke about Ford’s partnership with Mahindra Automotive and expects it to yield great results to both organizations. 

Executive Hau Thai-Tang and Jim Baumick also spoke and stated that Ford is on the right path to success and appreciated the contributions of Indian origin employees.  Nand Kochar delivered the vote of thanks and acknowledged that Sri Ganapathy and Sonal Choksi were Ford’s Diversity and Inclusion award winners for 2018. The event concluded with a grand dinner and music entertainment by Hrudhwani Fusion Music.
