“Your love of liberty – your respect for the laws – your habits of industry – and your practice of the moral and religious obligations, are the strongest claims to national and individual happiness” – George Washington (Founding Father of the United States of America).
Millions of Americans celebrate this Holiday with backyard parties, picnics, vacations, fireworks and more. It is a great time for our community members with family reunions and more. It is also a time to feel good about living in the oldest democracy in the world. It is important to reflect and appreciate the various resources provided to us – in terms of education, employment, and community by this great nation.
We should feel good about the contributions made by Indian American community members in various fields, including science, technology, business & entrepreneurship, politics, arts, and more.
Here’s wishing the United States of America a blessed 246th birthday. As we continue to celebrate freedom with responsibility as disciplined citizens, let us continue to use our knowledge, skills, hard work, and kindness in making a difference – by giving back to the country that has given us a lot. As Indian Americans, let us use our collective strengths of Indian and American values to guide the young and empower future leaders with resources and tools to make the future bright for this great country.
Happy Independence Day!
