Legendary singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam passes away

Legendary playback singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam passed away today in Chennai, India.  “SPB” as he is known to millions of fans worldwide was infected with the COVID-19 Coronavirus early August.  Despite intensive medical care SPB breathed his last today.  

SPB is no stranger to Detroit.  He has enthralled the audiences with a number of memorable performances. He has recorded 40,000 songs in 16 languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. He has worked extensively with Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman.
