Memorial Day Holiday 2022 – Things to do and places to see for Michigan residents

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally the start of the Summer season in America.  COVID had dampened vacations during the last couple of years.  High gas prices are also a constraining factor this year.  However, many are preparing to make the best out of it.  With schools winding down with their year kids are enjoying their field trips while families are planning out their Summer vacations. A number of Indian families with kids plan long vacations to India starting this weekend.  A number of students and new residents look forward to a sight-seeing trip to nearby places like Chicago, Niagara Falls, Pittsburg and scenic spots in Michigan etc.  With warm weather conditions it is a great time to spend outdoors. As thousands of Michigan Indian residents look forward to sightseeing trips, presents some exciting options.

Here are some places to visit in Michigan:

» Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, Dearborn.

» Mackinac City – A favorite Summer destination for many.  Nearby Mackinac Island is fabulous.  It is about 5 hours drive from Detroit.  (Mackinac is pronounced Mackinaw)

» Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore – Named as the most beautiful place in America by ABC TV It is also about 5 hours from the Detroit area.

» Silver lakes sand dunes is an amazing place about 4 hours from the Detroit area. A favorite spot for people seeking thrilling rides on the sand dunes.

» There are a few attractive destinations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Pictured Rocks and Sault. Ste  Marie ( Pronounced Soo Saint Marie)  and Tahquamenon Falls

You may also visit Birchrun Mall (near Flint) and Tanger Outlets (near Lansing) for outlet mall shopping.
