Michigan Indian American Democratic Caucus (MIADC) held their term elections on Sunday, 12th Sep 2021 at the Troy Community Center for the upcoming term. The election process was presided over by Dr. Anil Kumar (Board of Governors - Wayne State University), Arun Agarwal, Chair - Election Committee (MIADC), Mrs. Padma Kuppa (State Representative - 41st District), Haley Alderman, Director of Party Affairs (Michigan Democratic Party) and the locals of Detroit Area.
Mr. Murahari Devabathini / his slate won the elections unanimously, unopposed. The elected board addressed the gathering on MIADC goals and sought proactive cooperation from all, to serve the Indian American community to our best collectively. State Rep Padma Kuppa addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of community priorities and the need for a plan to achieve them together. She promised her support in achieving the party’s goals.
Mr. Ashok Baddi, the outgoing MIADC chair, expressed confidence that the new board will take the organization to newer heights and engage and involve the Indian community in the political spectrum.
MIADC was established in 2002, and strives towards developing political awareness in the Michigan Indian American Community, and promotes their interests in the local, state and federal levels, and works extensively in encouraging the Indo American youth in Michigan to develop an interest in mainstream politics. We welcome all community to join hands for the voice and welfare of us and our next generations.
