Navaratri 2021 Celebrations in Michigan

Navaratri celebrations are scheduled to start on Wednesday October 6th this year.

Navaratri is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Goddess Durga. The meaning of Navaratri is nine nights (in Sanskrit language). Nine forms of Goddess Shakthi are worshipped on each of the nine nights. On the 10th and final day (October 15th) devotees come together for a grand celebration commonly known as Vijayadashami or "Dussehra."

With COVID being less of an issue, this year, a number of events (all in-person) are scheduled.

Miindia.com has published a special Navratri page with a listing of temple events, Garba events and special sale information by local businesses.

Best wishes for a safe and happy Navaratri season. Be safe.
