COVID-19 has significantly hurt the restaurant industry since March 2020. State of Michigan has continuously monitored infection rates and announced restrictions accordingly. Last Fall, all restaurants were ordered to close the dine in option. Only carry outs were allowed.
The most recent announcement allowing restaurants to let customers dine in has been welcomed by restaurant owners and customers. However, they need to adhere to restrictions. Capacity needs to be maintained at 25% and tables need to be spaced apart for social distancing. Most restaurants have been relying solely on carry-out business and consequently suffered revenue losses. Now there is optimism that COVID-19 infection rates will continue to decline and capacity will increased in a few weeks. Diners are also excited that they can need go out for a drink and/or meal with their friends and family.
