Jayoto Mukherjee, beloved father, son, husband, uncle, and friend passed away on Sunday, August 22nd 2021, at the age of 55.
Jay, as he was fondly called, was born in Jamshedpur, India on July 20th, 1966 to Jolly and Jaladhi Mukherjee. He attended BIT Mesra, in Ranchi where he earned an MBA and began his career at the TATA Group in Jamshedpur, where he met and married Sharmistha. He was later employed as Senior IT Evangelist at Fiat Chrysler in the Detroit area.
Jay was fond of staying fit and healthy, enjoyed sports and was passionate about tennis. Most of all, however, Jay enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife and children. Jay will be remembered fondly for his jovial nature and ability to win hearts. He was a wonderful father, a beloved son, a loving husband, and an amazing friend. Jay is survived by his two children, Josh and Tia, who meant so much to him, his wife Sharmistha, and his mother Jolly. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Friends and family will be able to attend the viewing between 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 27th at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors located at 1368 N Crooks Rd, Clawson, MI 48017. Jayoto was widely adored, resulting in an overwhelming number of people wanting to attend the viewing. Because of Covid-19 safety requirements, the family respectfully requests the following:
All attendees should wear masks when inside the funeral home
Please practice social distancing and restrict viewing to 20 people at a time inside the viewing hall (waiting outside may be required).

In keeping with the family’s wishes, a private cremation service is scheduled for 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
