We are deeply saddened to inform you that our mother Nirmalaben Shah passed away peacefully at 93 years of age at St. Joseph hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was surrounded by her family before she passed. Nirmalaben was born and raised in the Bardoli District of Surat, India on February 15, 1928. She was married to the late Gulabchand P. Shah, also of Bardoli, at the age of 17 years.
She lived her life to the fullest, giving the fragrance of love and compassion to everybody around her. She is survived by her two sons-Shirish Shah (spouse-Parul) and Kalpesh Shah (spouse-Tarang), and three daughters-Meena aka Smita, Nayana Shah (spouse-Shailesh) and Sonal Mucchala (spouse-Apurva), and 10 grandchildren. She was able to spend the last 15 years of her life here in the U.S. living with her sons and daughters. Her life mission was to give unconditional love and compassion to all members of our family. She was truly Karunamurti.
Nirmalaben was a devout follower of the Jain dharma, reading religious books and listening to bhakti songs regularly. She was associated with the Subhanpura (Vadodara) Jain Sangh.
The funeral service and cremation will take place this Friday and will be attended by close family members only.
